Jean de VILLE de GOYET, PhD, MD, FRCS.
Graduated from the Catholic University of Louvain (Brussels, Belgium) in 1980 and trained in surgery, paediatric surgery and transplantation at the Cliniques St Luc (Brussels, Belgium) and Hôpital des Enfants Malades (Paris, France).
Clinical Consultant posts were successively hold at Brussels paediatric liver transplantation center (Prof Otte – 1986-1998), pediatric liver unit - Birmingham Children’s Hospital (Prof Kelly – 1998-2003), Cliniques St Luc Brussels (Head of Abdominal Surgery and Transplantation Department – 2003-2007), and Bambino Gesù Childrens Hospital- Rome (Head of paediatric surgery and Transplantation – 2007 to 2016).
Ordinary Professor of Paediatric surgery (2003-2007 at the Catholic University of Louvain, Brussels, Belgium and from 2007 at the University of Roma Tor Vergata, Roma, Italy).
Currently Head of the Paediatric Surgery and Transplantation at ISMETT – Palermo, with major research interests in the field of liver transplantation and extrahepatic portal hypertension.
